Shaw Learning Academy was recently named to Training magazine’s “Training Top 125.” The company’s training and development program came in at 18th on the list, which ranks organizations worldwide for outstanding human capital development programs and practices. Shaw is the only floorcovering manufacturer to have made the list for six consecutive years. The company was formally recognized for its achievement during the annual Training magazine Awards banquet in San Diego earlier this month.

“The fact that Shaw Learning Academy has been included on the list for six consecutive years –- and has steadily improved its rankings during that time –- is a reflection of Shaw’s commitment to providing world-class training and development for our associates and our customers,” said Danny Crutchfield, Shaw director of corporate training and organizational development.

Originally a single sales training program, Shaw Learning Academy has evolved over the past two decades into a group of aligned Centers of Excellence, each dedicated to partnering with internal and external clients to deliver specific training and development opportunities. The Academy currently includes eight Centers of Excellence, including classes on leadership, technology, business management, operations, retail, ethics & compliance, individual and sales.

Each year, Training magazine reviews hundreds of applications from organizations worldwide to assemble the Top 125 list. Companies are assessed in a range of qualitative and quantitative factors, including financial investment in employee development, the type and scope of training and education programs provided to employees, the quality of those programs and how closely such development opportunities are linked to business goals and objectives.

“Shaw strives to create an environment where our people can develop and contribute at their highest level,” said Shaw President Randy Merritt. “Providing the best possible opportunities for the continued personal and professional development of each of our associates is one of the most important investments we can make. We are proud to be recognized for our commitment and that Training ranks Shaw Learning Academy among the world’s best training programs.”
