Horizon Forest Products and Long Floor have hired Bunny Hawkins as inside sales/account representative for their Beltsville, Md., branch. Hawkins will be responsible for assisting customers, providing support services to outside sales representatives, and building and maintaining customer relationships to secure future sales.

Prior to joining Horizon Forest Products and Long Floor, Hawkins was the store manager for Alexandria, Va.-based hardwood flooring distributor Cherokee Wholesalers, where she managed all branch operations including maintaining profit margins and overhead costs, sales, shipping, and personnel and staffing.

“When I sought the position at Horizon Forest Products and Long Floor, I was looking for a position that would offer me room to grow, as well as present me with a challenge,” Hawkins said. “I’m confident that my new position will meet all of my expectations, and I’m looking forward to serving our current client base, as well as helping [the company] expand into new markets and territories.”

Beltsville Branch Manager Phil Kearney said he heard of Hawkins’ dedication to customer service and excellent job performance from several customers. He said this feedback, along with her familiarity with the Baltimore metropolitan area, made her the ideal candidate for the position.

“Bunny ran a warehouse in the Baltimore area for several years and was basically a one-woman show,” Kearney noted. “She oversaw all operations and came to us with a thorough understanding of branch operations. Her knowledge of the Baltimore market will allow us to expand our footprint into this desirable area. Bunny is a tremendous asset to our team, and we look forward to having her assist us in continuing to strengthen our presence in the hardwood flooring industry.”
