Starnet zeroes in on creative commercial projects with Design Awards

Healthcare/Grand Prize Winner


Starnet Worldwide Commercial Flooring Partnership has announced the winners of its 2009 Starnet Design Awards competition. Aimed at honoring the best and most creative designs in commercial projects involving Starnet members, the awards were presented recently at the co-op’s annual meeting in Palm Desert, Calif.


Environmental Achievement  Winner
"The power of collaboration and the vision of truly skilled talent are evident by the caliber of this year's winning entries," said Jeanne Matson, president and CEO of Starnet. "Our members possess decades of skilled technical expertise that produces phenomenal end results for their designers and the client. These awards truly celebrate all facets of commercial flooring craftsmanship at its finest.”


Unique Installation Challenge Winner
The Design Awards recognize creative use of floor coverings, flooring design concepts and how well designs meet client objectives, along with considerations for any special challenges encountered. The panel of judges included: Maurie O'Neill, designer/partner for O2 Design in New York; Clara Igonda, principal at Perkins + Will, Los Angeles; and Adel Smith Chapman, director of interiors for Architects Delawie Wilkes Rodrigues Barker (DWRB), based in San Diego.
