Jeff Leone

MAPEI said two of its executives will work closely with industry associations in leadership roles. Jeff Leone, MAPEI's director of strategic marketing, has been named manufacturer representative on the National Tile Contractors Association's Board of Directors. Additionally, Dr. Neil McMurdie,  MAPEI's director of research and development, has been named third vp of the Materials & Methods Standards Association.

Leone said MAPEI would play a pivotal role in the NTCA's mission to educate and train tile contractors. “MAPEI is helping support these goals through our sponsorship of the NTCA Safety Program and by joining in the sponsorship of the ‘Partnering for Success’ membership program,” Leone said. “As a member of the Board of Directors, I will be focusing on three key issues: continuing to attract new NTCA members; assisting in training programs for both the NTCA and the Ceramic Tile Education Foundation, of which MAPEI is a significant sponsor; and involving MAPEI more closely in the Standards & Methods Committee.”

McMurdie said he is proud to be elected to the MMSA, a group which advises both the Tile Council of North America and the American National Standards Institute on specification recommendations for tile and stone installations. “The Materials & Methods Standards Association is a group of dedicated individuals who are trying to better our industry, and I am proud to be a part of that effort. The steps we take today will help members of the tile and stone industry work more efficiently and effectively in the future,” he said.
