Mohawk Industries was recently honored with Wal-Mart’s inaugural Vendor Award for Sustainability. Specifically, the company’s Mohawk Home brand was recognized for managing its energy usage, reducing waste and highlighting sustainable materials in its products. Among its green efforts, Mohawk Home was credited with reducing water usage in its dyeing processes, setting up bottle recycling programs at Wal-Mart stores and a Calhoun, Ga. public school, and recyling rubber for its recycled tire mat products.
