Daltile has launched the DaltileGreenworks program, an extension of parent company Mohawk’s Greenworks environmental sustainability initiative. Along with promotng Daltile’s “green” philosophy on its website, the program is aimed as a resource for dealers and builders searching to learn about the LEED rating system and how it relates to “green” tile products.

“We believe that the best design includes consideration for the environment.  There’s no need to compromise extraordinary interior design in order to protect the remarkable designs that nature has provided as our inspiration,” said Lori Kirk-Rolley, Daltile’s marketing director.

A main component of the program is the website www.daltilegreenworks.com, aimed as a resource for dealers and builders looking to find information on products that can earn LEED credits and to learn about the company’s wide-ranging “green” efforts.

From the site, users can obtain real-time recycled materials content information, search for products by percentage of recycled content, pinpoint tiles made within 500 miles of their jobsite, and download product specs and material safety data sheets.

The company said more than 97 percent of its products are made using pre-consumer recycled materials. Additionally, the company’s products meet low-emitting materials requirements set by the California Collaborative of High Performance Schools program, a “green” building rating system aimed at K-12 schools.
